Pathtech has been providing quality products to the Australian scientific industry since 1985. Founded by Stephen Kelly, the Managing Director, Pathtech began initially as a Victorian distribution company. Within two years Pathtech had a national presence. It now has direct representation in Victoria, Queensland, and New South Wales, with distributors in Western Australia and South Australia. The company underwent rapid expansion in 1991 with the signing of the Labsystems agency (now merged with the global giant, Thermo Electron Corporation). The growth continues with the adoption of the Continental Laboratory Products (CLP) range of Molecular Biology products in 2003.
Pathtech has focused on providing personalised service since its inception. As a result it has built many long-standing relationships. Customers will still bear fond memories of Stephen Kelly, the 'Finnpipette Man'. He challenged the industry with his unique approach to customer interaction. Armed with a briefcase laden with pipettes and accessories, he encouraged customers to dispense, dismantle, even drop them, demonstrating their superior quality and robustness.
While liquid handling is now but one component of Pathtech's range, it clearly shows the company's unwavering dedication to supplying high quality scientific solutions. Pathtech embraces new ideas and technologies to improve both its product offering and its business processes.
